Update

EAST 2 is rolling full-steam ahead!! The projects have been great, the youth fantastic, and the views absolutely amazing!

RED CREW:

For the NEXT TWO WEEKS: Red will be working VERY DEEP on a trail in the Payette National Forest, working with the Krassel Ranger District. They will be dismantling a bridge (possibly building another one), installing drainage, installing trail support, widening tread, bucking out logs, and brushing the trail corridor. Their gear will be FLOWN in by a helicopter to make the hike much easier for them.

YELLOW CREW:

FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS: Yellow is going into the RIVER OF NO RETURN WILDERNESS!!! They will be working in the Payette National Forest, with the Krassel Ranger District. They will be using the crosscut to buck out some big logs to start off with, after packing in about 5 miles into the Wilderness to their camp. Then they will be using that camp as a base area to touch up a few trails around them with beautiful drains, water bars, brushing, possibly installing a turnpike, brushing, tread support, trail widening – a real mixed bag of a project!!

BLUE CREW:

Blue will spend the NEXT TWO WEEKS: Working in the Sawtooth National Forest, hiking back, back, back, through the Headwaters of the MIGHTY and FAMOUS SALMON RIVER!! They will be widening a trail that has been neglected for quite some time in this pristine, gorgeous area.

ORANGE CREW:

FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS: Orange is heading to the Boise National Forest, to take over from where  Red crew has let off from the last two weeks of trail work. They will be logging out one trail, and performing trail maintenance on another. This will include drainage, brushing, trail widening, all that good stuff. Depending on how far they make it, their trail will take them into the RIVER OF NO RETURN WILDERNESS!!

And parents... the MAGIC HAS STARTED HAPPENING OUT HERE IN IDAHO!!!

 Graduation on August 23rd!  11AM

Lewiston Round-up Grounds

2100 Tammany Creek Road

Lewiston, ID 83501

From rt. 12 in Lewiston:

Take “Thain Grade” (Heading up the Hill)

Keep going uphill. “Thain Grade” will turn into “Thain Rd.

You’ll pass Wal-mart on your left. The hill finally somewhat levels out.

The road will change names into “14th St”, then “Ripon Ave”, Then “Barr St” as it twists and turns.

And finally “Tammany Creek Rd”.

It’s important to not OVERTHINK the route. Basically, if you get yourself onto “Thain Grade” and just keep going the way it takes you (w eventual jogs in the road to the left and the right), you’ll run right into the Round Up Grounds, outside of Lewiston, on your right.

From the turn off from rt 12, IT’S ABOUT 6 MILES to the round up grounds.

Follow the NYC signs when you get to the grounds.
