NYC helps young people from all over gain confidence, and become leaders; while at the same time teach them to appreciate hard work, and the environment.

In order to serve an ever-growing number of youth, NYC is expanding its leadership programs to ensure top-notch staff, updating its fleet of crew vehicles to ensure safety, and updating its youth campus to increase efficiency.

We can only help these future leaders because each year our alumni and friends of NYC give back to us. Help us help our future leaders.

• TravelSafe. NYC is in the midst of replacing our fleet of rapidly aging vans with new, 15-seat buses. Each year our young crews travel a total of 300,000 miles to their work sites in remote areas. We want to provide them with the safest possible vehicles. Learn more and Donate Now 

 

Help us buy a bus before the end of 2007!  Thanks to a generous matching grant from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, any donation you make – up to $23,000 – will double in value if you write “Murdock Challenge” or “bus challenge” on your gift. So if you make a $50 contribution it would be worth$100 or if you make a $100 it would be worth $200! In less than 8 months, we have raised $12,300 from 60 donors.

• Oregon Cultural Trust. Did you know that NYC is a partner of the Oregon Cultural Trust? When you donate to NYC, you can deduct your gift, dollar for dollar, off your taxes, as an (Oregon) tax credit when you make a matching gift to the Trust. Learn more at Oregon Cultural Trust website. What is a tax credit?

Unlike a tax deduction that only reduces the amount of your taxable income, a tax credit reduces the amount of tax you owe ($500 for individuals, $1,000 for couples filing jointly and $2,500 for Oregon corporations). With this credit, your gift might in fact cost you nothing.  Help youth and yourself this year-end!

  
Alternative Gift Idea

This holiday season, give a gift that makes a difference in the lives of youth. Remember friends and family with an Alternative Gift to Northwest Youth Corps.

What they Get: Your “honored someone” will receive a full-color certificate that shares that they are being honored by you with a gift that makes a permanent difference in the life of a young person. At the same time, you will receive an acknowledgement letter good for your giving records. The amount of your gift is never disclosed, and certificates can be mailed or emailed for those last minute stocking stuffers!

We are always busy at Northwest Youth Corps and can always use a helping hand. If you live in lane county area we could use your help at Headquarters. If you live anywhere else we can definitely use your help too (across the states or internationally).
